What in the world does this mean?

I have a triangle symbol next to this...FDC and next to that there is an = sign with a ~ on top of it.

= with a ~ on top of it means "congruent." It does not mean "approximately equal." That sign is ≈.

∆FDC is congruent to ∆FBA, not ∆AFB. Watch your order!
The order matters because...
If you say ∆FDC is congruent to ∆FBA, then that means FD is congruent to FB, FC is congruent to FA, angle FDC is congruent to angle FBA, and so on, which is true.
If you say ∆FDC is congruent to ∆AFB, then that means FD is congruent to AF, FC is congruent to AB, angle FDC is congruent to angle AFB, and so on, which is false.

∆DFC is congruent to ∆BFA
∆DCF is congruent to ∆BAF
∆CFD is congruent to ∆AFB
∆CDF is congruent to ∆ABF
