Sea Creatures
If fresh water icebergs melt and dilute the salty oceans, how will this effect all of the sea creatures?
Will life in the oceans die? Will they adapt to less salt in the water? Will new creatures evolve? What is your thinking?
Individuals don't adapt, Populations may adapt, but only if the necessary mutuation or ability occurs that will help them adapt (if it doesn't exist in the population, the population can't evolve).
First, it will take hundreds if not thousands of years for the salinility of the ocean to change. Water currents in the ocean are actually quite isolated from mixing due to differences in salinility and temperature. So those animals that like warmer temps and less salinility will thrive because they will have more room to thrive in, while those who like colder temps and larger salinility will probably die out. But this will take a long long time.
Second, you cannot predict the future, just like you can't travel into the past. You can only hypothesize.
