Thom Collier – Principled, Dedicated, Conservative
There is a new Senatorial candidate in Ohio's 19th district who was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Knox County Republican party and who is steadily gaining favor and support by many individuals and groups. His name is Thom Collier, and he is from Mount Vernon, Ohio. The following are a few facts about Thom, and why many are supporting his candidacy.
1. Anchored by Faith and Family
The youngest of nine children, Thom Collier was born and raised in Mount Vernon. He and his wife, Diane, have been married 17 years and have two daughters, Cathern, 15, and Natoli, 10. Thom Collier is a deacon in his church. And, for 27 years, Thom has been a businessman, working as a business consultant and property manager.
2. Leading His Community
Thom Collier is a natural born leader who has repeatedly used his gifts to improve his local community. He is a founding board member of the local crisis pregnancy center and formerly a national board member of the Exchange Club. Several years ago, when municipal leaders casually dismissed his requests for help with a simple drainage problem, Thom decided to enter public service and vowed to make constituents' needs a priority. And, over the years, he has done just that, earning numerous awards for his responsive, personal approach to governing.
3. A Bold Conservative Record
As a state representative for eight years, Thom built a consistent and impressive record. His bold, conservative, policies include introducing legislation to eliminate the Ohio income tax, reduce bureaucracy, save taxpayer dollars, strengthen families and schools, and improve public safety. Among his other achievements, Thom Collier was instrumental in shaping a corporate tax reform package that eliminated the corporate franchise and tangible personal property taxes, and cut the income tax of every Ohioan by 21 percent.
4. Endorsed by Many
Over the years, Thom Collier has been endorsed by United Conservatives of Ohio, the NRA, League of Conservation Voters, Ohio Right to Life, and other conservative organizations. And, most of these groups have endorsed him again and again. The platform of Thom Collier and his campaign for state Senate is again winning the kind grassroots support he is known for and should prove favorable in this year's Senatorial election.
